JavaOne is getting closer...
I know, it's six months away (it's happening in
May
2006, rather than the usual June), but some deadlines are
creeping up. The call-for-papers closes
November 30th. Do a really good job on your abstracts:
there are always far more proposals than available time slots. And
it's time to start thinking seriously about ideas for the
T-Shirt hurling
contest. Cash! Free passes to JavaOne! You just have to figure
out how to get some t-shirts into the audience. Last year was a
real lesson in engineering: 2 out of 3 entries broke, but in
interesting ways: one "over tested" and burned out his motor; the
other had their IR sensors prematurly triggered by the
photographers cameras. Surely you (yes you, the person reading
this) can do better!
