Tommy Tailgate
Paul Perrone brought his DARPA grand challenge entry
Tommy to Sun's Menlo Park
campus on Saturday. We had a tailgate party in the parking lot
while the beast drove around and got photographed about a zillion
times. It's a pretty cool beast to stick your head into and stare
at. Tommy is quite a clean piece of engineering, despite the
slapped-together look. It's mostly off-the-shelf parts, glued
together by three computers running a pile of Java code. Paul and
