Good Night, and Good Luck

I finally got to see the wonderful movie Good Night, and Good Luck, about the incident where Edward R Murrow (played by David Strathairn) and his producer Fred Friendly (played by George Clooney) take on Sen. Joseph McCarthy. It's a nicely done film about an important incident that has eerie parallel's to today. I saw it at an art house theater (the Guild in Menlo Park, CA), where the line to get in was very long, and many people did not get in because the film sold out - and this was several weeks after the film opened. Tragically, it only seems to be showing in art house theaters, and I doubt that it's getting seen much in Red States.

In one of those odd connections that fate makes, the technical publications group in the Java organisation at Sun was run for years by Lisa Friendly, Fred Friendly's daughter.
